“Cloak and Crown - The Beautiful Game of Deception”
“Cloak and Crown” was a 2025 team-building series with Seattle Reign FC that combined traitor-style mystery, strategy, and competitive challenges to showcase player personalities and team chemistry. Players were secretly designated as “traitors,” faced off in physical and mental challenges, and navigated roundtable banishments that kept viewers guessing episode to episode.
James was the sole creative responsible for capturing content and all postproduction needs for the project while the Reign trained in Coachella Valley, CA. Working solo on a single Sony FX6 rigged for continuous coverage, he documented every moment of the game to ensure no key interaction or reveal was missed. Beyond the series itself, James recorded trainings, preseason matches, and individual player features—turning the team’s preseason into a rich content portfolio for the Reign marketing team to deploy across multiple channels.
Over several weeks James edited and delivered all five episodes of the series. The finished product achieved multiple objectives:
Boosted fan engagement and preseason hype for the 2025 season.
Offered authentic insight into player personalities and locker-room chemistry.
Supplied versatile content assets for social, web, and broadcast promotion.

2025 Rolex LPGA Awards & LPGA DOW Impact Awards
Montane Productions collaborated with the LPGA in 2025 to produce video work for both the Rolex LPGA Awards ceremony and the DOW Impact Award. By working closely with the LPGA marketing and content teams, James and Logan leveraged the LPGA’s extensive archive of historical and contemporary footage to create polished opening and closing videos for the Rolex LPGA Awards, along with player-profile features and winner-announcement videos for the DOW Impact Award.
Seamless collaboration was essential to the project’s success. Close coordination with the LPGA teams ensured access to the right assets, timely approvals by internal teams and external partners, and alignment on tone and storytelling to properly honor each award recipient.

A New Guinness World Record
On the opening day of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Seattle — led by the Seattle Sounders and the FIFA Local Organizing Committee — set a new world record for the largest active soccer training session with 1,038 participants.
James filmed and stitched together the day, serving as a proud piece for participants and amplifying Seattle’s achievement on a global stage. Due to the intended global audience for this piece, Montane Productions was brought on to elevate the day on camera and secured Seattle’s place in the world record books ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2026 FIFA World Cup with flare and style.
